ICAI Deep-Dive Data Series II: Public Data Application

ICAI Deep-Dive is a community meetup that focuses on shared interested topics and subjects in-depth, despite the differences in the primary research domains of each community member and lab. The aim is to promote knowledge production, transferring, and utilization via experience sharing and open discussion, finding solutions for the common challenges and issues in the community.

Using Public and Closed Data to Catch Criminals

“The National Police Lab AI is a collaboration between the National Police, University Utrecht and University of Amsterdam. The lab is consisting of over 15 people and growing. In the lab there are three main streams of research: Data-driven, in particular, deep learning
based, methods, knowledge driven techniques to bring in the domain specifics and simulations to make predictions. In this talk we will elaborate on the different research areas, their reliance on data, and the ways of working in the lab where we cover the whole chain from fundamental research through applied research and on to deployment in the operation.”
