Explainable AI for early detection of hereditary cholesterol disorder

The Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) and Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) have developed an innovative artificial intelligence system to identify hereditary cholesterol disorders faster and more reliably. Conducted in the Netherlands, this research offers new hope for better care and prevention.

CWI and LUMC have achieved a breakthrough in medical AI technology. The new tool is not only accurate but also explainable: doctors can understand why the AI makes a certain diagnosis.
