European Commission invests €30 billion in research and innovation

The European Commission has presented the final Work Programme for the EU research and innovation funding programme Horizon 2020.

The Work Programme covers the budgetary years 2018-2020 and builds on the success of Horizon 2020 so far. It also responds to the European Commission's political priorities and paves the way for its successor programme, the 9th framework programme.

The new Work Programme includes strategic measures to support market-creating innovation, to strengthen international cooperation and to stimulate open access to data. Political priorities of the Commission are addressed through highly integrated focus areas.
