Tuesday, 4 February 2020, World Cancer Day, you will have the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of a highly advanced DNA analysis laboratory. You will be a guest of Hartwig Medical Foundation, located at the Science Park in Amsterdam. The foundation is celebrating its fifth anniversary and wants to show neighbours and other relations her purpose for cancer patients and research.

There will be two sessions starting at 9:30 and 10:30 A.M. The program starts with a general introduction about Hartwig Medical Foundation, questions (which can be sent while signing up) will be answered. And of course, there will be a laboratory tour to see how they actually work. Due to the size of the laboratory there is room for a maximum of 20 participants per session. The program lasts a maximum of 2 hours.

In case of too many participants, names will be registered in sequence on a “first come, first serve” basis.

Hartwig Medical Foundation is a not-for-profit organization initiated by oncologists and researchers. Its mission is to improve treatment options for cancer patients. Therefore, a high-tech laboratory with the latest DNA analysis equipment has been set up. Hartwig Medical Foundation has developed bioinformatic software for data analysis and built a database with clinical and genetic data from more than 4,000 people with cancer. Researchers from all over the world use this data to improve the care for cancer patients.
